1

I offer a range of hair and hair removal services! For your hair service I generally recommend communicating what your hair currently looks like and finding some hair inspiration pics or creating a mood board that represents your desired style.

What is sugaring? And how do I prepare for my first appointment?

3

Sugaring is a natural hair removal method using a sticky paste made of sugar, lemon, and water. It is removed in the direction of hair growth, meaning less breakage of hairs during removal and fewer ingrown hairs than waxing. It’s heated no warmer than the body’s natural temperature. Sugaring is perfect for anyone who has sensitive skin, is prone to ingrown hairs, or anyone who wants a more gentle alternative to wax. It is recommended to wait at least 10-14 days after shaving before booking a sugaring appointment, or 3-4 weeks after waxing.

You can prepare for your first appointment by arriving freshly showered, in comfy and loose fitting clothes. If you are worried about pain you can take ibuprofen beforehand or Tylenol if pregnant. Avoid excessive consumption of caffeine or sugar beforehand. Avoid exfoliating or heavy sun exposure/tanning for 24hrs before and after your appointment. Stop shaving 10-14 days before your appointment to ensure optimal results!

Am I a good candidate for sugaring?

4

Sugaring is generally safe for everyone! It is safe during pregnancy as well as during your period. If on your period you can wear either a menstrual cup or tampon. Im totally cool with it, however you may be more sensitive during this time.

I CANNOT sugar anyone on Accutane or anyone actively using Retin-A. These both exfoliate and make the skin thin. Accutane must be completely stopped for 6 months prior to sugaring. Retin-A must be discontinued 10+ days before appointment.

I require full disclosure in order to prevent adverse skin reactions.

The most common(and normal) skin reaction I see (especially after the first appointment) is a histamine reaction. This is a temporary skin response to hair removal trauma, causing mild itchy red bumps or hives. It usually goes away with a few hours and can be soothed by cold compress, aloe, or oral antihistamines.
